EA to announce return of ‘NBA Jam’

When EA Sports community manager Alain Quinto tweeted back in December that EA execs were preparing to announce a new game, the rumors and speculation spiraled out of control. Was EA going to steal the WWE license from THQ? Is “MVP Baseball” coming back? Is a new sport like lacrosse finally going to break through with an NCAA licensed game? Rumor: EA Sports working on a NFL Trainer game

This rumor is brought to us by Destructoid. This could possibly be the game that will be announced in January.

Earlier this month, EA Canada’s Community Manager, Alain Quinto, tweeted that EA Sports is planning to reveal a brand-new game in January. We’ve been curious as to what the new title could be, and sources close to the project have informed us that the new IP will be a football game for the Wii. Before you go running off — no, this isn’t going to be another Madden game. The game is currently called NFL Trainer, and it’s all about getting players to do football-based exercises and workouts. The new game will also coach players on how to throw footballs, and give you advice on how to perfect throws. There’s also talks about a football-shaped attachment that could come with NFL Trainer. As this is going to be a football training game, it doesn’t really make much sense for it to not include something of that sort. Our sources have been reliable in the past, but we’ll have to wait for the official word from EA to see if NFL Trainer will actually pan out. January is fast approaching, so we won’t have to wait long to see exactly what EA Sports’ next game could be.

The Sports Game Guy Holiday List

Happy Holidays to all of our readers at the Sports Game Guy. I have made a list of sports titles everyone should look at for the Holiday season. Hit read more to see our impressions on games you need to have! Kevin’s List: Madden NFL Arcade: Lets start with the newly released Madden NFL Arcade game that goes for 1,200 Microsoft points. If you need something under $20 on your gaming list, this is definitely something to look into. I have played the demo about 20 times, and I will be getting it over the holidays. This game is a lot of fun, and I know it will be a hit when I return to school in January. I am definitely thinking about making a tournament here at the Sports Game Guy when I pick it up as well, so be on the lookout for that! NBA Live 10 or NCAA Basketball 10: I have been playing NBA Live 10 since it has released and I just received NCAA Basketball 10. Both are solid basketball titles and both have some hiccups, but I have enjoyed my experience with both games. NCAA Basketball does hold a special place with me though, because it is the only game I can play with my college in. Also the CBS and ESPN presentation is a great addition. Madden NFL 10: I am sure most of our readers have this game, but it is a must have now because Best Buy is selling it for $40. Also the Madden Ultimate Team feature is releasing in January for free.

EA Sports: Madden NFL 10 Video Highlight

This was definitely my best sports gaming moment of the year. I was playing the Ravens with the Bears on All-pro in the snow. I was down 20-17 with only 35 seconds left. I drove down the field and ended up hitting a field goal to tie the game. There was 6 seconds left and I wanted to squib kick the ball, but I accidentally chose to kick off the ball normally. I ended up manually having to squib kick the ball and you can see what happened above in the video. As the year comes to a close, can you recall a significant moment in your sports gaming this year? The Sports Game Guy would definitely like to read about it, so make a comment!

According to Alain Quinto, EA Sports Community Manager, EA Sports will announce a new game in January.

“Just heard the execs at EA SPORTS will announce a new game sometime in January.”

1 vs 100 Sports- Saturday Night

I don’t know if all of you are familiar with “1 vs 100″. But it is a gameshow on xbox live and on Saturday nights they have a sports segment. It will be on for one hour starting at 10 pm central Saturday Night. I will be online and if anyone wants to jump in a room while answering sports questions just send me a friend request!
